What is Taste of BuHi?
Taste of BuHi is a research-based program initiative to help our Buford Highway businesses. The goal is to collect important information that will raise awareness of the corridor’s deeply-woven roots, planted out of the hard work of immigrant restaurant owners.
What is the Taste of BuHi Membership and why did you create it?
We recognize that people from all walks of life connect to Buford Highway for its food. What many do not have the “inside” on are the facts, the stories and voices behind the bodegas, tea houses, eateries, and food stalls that make this area such a vibrant pulse for perspectives behind a bonafide 40-year old “new” south. Buford Highway’s food scene has always taken center-stage for adventure eaters and food bloggers and we want to take these engagements and turn them into deeper understandings and discussions about the need to preserve the multicultural identity of this place.
What do I get as a Taste of BuHi Member?
Once you join as a Taste of BuHi Member, you will receive a link to our insider’s digital guide, Stories Behind the Bites of Buford Highway Restaurants (includes information on all restaurants and the history of their creation), a cloth mask designed by local artist, Van Galasso / IG: @designedbyvan, an invitation to play the One Bite At A Time Contest, and special discounts throughout the year.
What is the One Bite at A Time Contest and do I have to purchase a membership to play?
No. You do not have to purchase a membership to enter the contest or win prizes.
When will I get my mask?
Between 10-15 business days (patience while we manually mail these is greatly appreciated).
Once I sign up to play the contest, what should I expect and how do I start?
Once you fill out the entry form: HERE, you’ll receive a link to download scorecards. Follow the instructions to gain your way towards prizes.
Once you have purchased a featured dish from one of our BuHi restaurants, take a picture of the receipt* and upload by one of the following options:
Send a DM to our IG account @tastebuhi, OR
Email us at: tastebuhi@welovebuhi.org, OR
Send a DM to our FB account @welovebuhi.
*receipt must include the restaurant name, your name, the date, and the item ordered.
What’s the window and rules of the contest?
Contest starts Friday October 16 and ends at midnight, October 31st. Click HERE for full description of contest disclaimer.
When will I be notified of prizes and when can I expect them?
We will notify winners on a weekly basis, prizes will be mailed out within (10-15 business days).
I don’t see my favorite spot, what happened?
We went door-to-door and tried to include as many restaurants as we could. Please send us a note of your favorite and we will be sure to share so that they can join us the next round.

¿Qué es Taste of BuHi?
Taste of BuHi es una iniciativa para ayudar a los negocios de Buford Highway. El objetivo de esta campaña es recolectar data para resaltar la importancia de los restaurantes en Buford Highway y las historias detrás de los platillos que disfrutamos todos los días. Sobre todo, queremos concientizar a nuestras audiencias sobre la multiculturalidad y el arduo trabajo proveniente de los dueños y trabajadores de estos restaurantes.
¿Qué significa la Membresía Taste of BuHi y por qué fue creada?
Reconocemos que las personas sienten una conexión única con la comida de Buford Highway. Pero lo que muchos no conocen son las historias y las voces detrás de todas esas bodegas, casas de té, restaurantes y puestos de comida que han hecho de esta área un lugar único en el sureste de los Estados Unidos desde 1976. La comida de Buford Highway siempre atrae a muchos fanáticos y bloggers y queremos que esta misma atracción suceda a un nivel más profundo, creando conversaciones y espacios para apreciar la humanidad detrás de cada plato de comida. De esta manera, buscamos seguir preservando la multiculturalidad de Buford Highway.
¿Qué recibo como Miembro de Taste of BuHi?
Una vez te unas a la Membresía Taste of BuHi, recibirás un link para descargar nuestra guía gastronómica con historias únicas sobre cada uno de los restaurantes que participan en la campaña. Estas Historias Detrás de los Bocados resaltan el trabajo, la tenacidad y la dedicación de cada dueño y trabajador en Buford Highway. También recibirás una máscara diseñada por la artista local Van Galasso (IG: @designedbyvan), una invitación para participar en nuestra competencia virtual Taste of BuHi y descuentos únicos durante el año.
¿Cómo funciona la competencia virtual Taste of BuHi (One Bite at A Time) y es necesario ser miembro para participar?
Nuestra competencia virtual inicia una vez llenas el formulario AQUÍ. Recibirás un correo con las tarjetas de puntuación y por cada plato que compres en los restaurantes patrocinados, deberás mandar una foto a nuestro correo tasteofbuhi@welovebuhi.org, O un mensaje a nuestra página de Instagram privada @tastebuhi O un mensaje a nuestro Facebook @welovebuhi con la foto de tu recibo. Otorgaremos premios a los participantes que completen 5, 10, 15 y 27 (todos) restaurantes. Para más información puedes hacer clic AQUÍ.
No es necesario ser miembro para participar en la competencia virtual.
¿Cuándo recibiré mi máscara?
Entre 10-15 días hábiles (estaremos enviándolas manualmente a través del correo, favor tener paciencia con el proceso).
Una vez que me inscriba en la competencia, ¿qué tengo que hacer?
1. Llenar el formulario de JotForm AQUÍ.
2. Leer el correo que te enviemos con las tarjetas de puntuación y descargarlas.
3. Seguirnos en nuestra cuenta de Instagram @tastebuhi
4. ¡Seguir las instrucciones y comenzar a jugar!
Una vez que hayas comprado uno de los platos patrocinados de nuestros restaurantes BuHi, toma una foto de tu recibo* y compártela con nosotros:

*El recibo debe incluir el nombre del restaurante, tu nombre, la fecha, y el plato que compraste.
¿Cuánto tiempo dura la competencia y dónde están las reglas?

¿Cuándo me van a avisar si me gané un premio y cuando lo voy a recibir?
Notificaremos a los ganadores al final de cada semana y los premios los enviaremos por correo (tiempo estimado 10-15 días hábiles).
