Los Vecinos de Buford Hwy has taught many the meaning of the power of neighbors coming together at the time of need. It has made me realize the unconditional commitment I have to stand alongside with a beautiful and diverse community that holds together the Buford Hwy corridor.”
Los Vecinos de Buford Hwy is a local nonprofit that cultivates community, magnifies its voices, and grows future leaders in order to preserve the diversity and character of the Buford Highway neighborhood. Through shared meals in local apartment complexes, they build and foster relationships between complexes and neighborhoods along Buford Highway. As friends and activists of Buford Highway, volunteer captains realize the pains of community before most others, in real time. They are a team made up of movers dedicated to strengthening the daily lives of the corridor’s Latino communities.
